Mary Maguire with Jeff Horton - August 9th
Blizzards and flat tires notwithstanding, the magic carpet ride of performing musicians has lifted Mary's voice across the airwaves from Los Angeles to Boston, from France to Russia and China, and has floated her onto stages shared with the talented likes of John Sebastian, Tom Rush, Livingston Taylor, Christine Lavin, Dave Mallett, T. Graham Brown, Billy Novick and Guy Van Duser, Patti Larkin, Lincoln Meyers, Devonsquare, Moondi Klein, Harvey Reid, and others. With many musical collaborations from classical, folk, jazz and rock combined with years on the road, she has alot to convey through her guitar and voice.
Jeff Horton's powerful bass-to-the-sky vocal range is well-known to the New England bluegrass scene. His solid acoustic bass drove the talented and entertaining Neon Valley Boys before the highly acclaimed contemporary bluegrass band Northern Lights brought him into their fold in 1990. Jeff was with Northern Lights for six years, playing hundreds of concerts, travelling thousands upon thousands of miles, and performing with greats like Vassar Clements, Tim O'Brien, Peter Rowan, Jonathan Edwards and Dave Mallett. When Mary and Jeff Horton sing together their voices create a very unique, rich blend "you don't just find anywhere".

Doug Lamey is twenty-three years old and is the grandson of Bill Lamey. Bill was an extraordinary Cape Breton fiddler and contributor to the Scottish and Cape Breton heritage in the Boston area for over thirty-five years.
Doug has studied and performed for several years all over North America and has a true pride and passion for the traditional style of Scottish and Cape Breton Fiddling, just like his grandfather, Bill Lamey.
Doug has performed in many live sound environments as well as broadcasted performances, such as WGBH radio station and several local television studios in Massachusetts. He has also performed at the annual Glendale Festival in Cape Breton, the Washington Irish Festival and the N.H. Highland Games. He has had the privilege to perform in the Boston area with such artists as Andrea Beaton, Glen Graham, Sandy & Johnnie MacDonald, Cliff McGann and Mac Morin. Check out Doug's website for video clips and more info.
For Sean, the social amenities are a big part of what draws him to the music, whatever its point of origin. Playing a toe-tromping reel at a packed-to-the-rafters Irish ceilidh, backing a brisk 6/8 march at a convivial Scottish fiddle session, belting out a chorus at an English-style pub-sing -makes him happy beyond description. Sean co-founded Dark Eyed Sheep which for years performed in such venues as Club Passim, and the Acadian Folk Festival in Maine. He is also involved with organizing the Boston Celtic Music Festival. Check out Sean's website for more info and sound clips.
These three together create a concert absolutely NOT to be missed.
